Portugal is one of the most popular holiday destinations, awarded the best European Tourist Destination by the World Travel Awards in 2019, winning an impressive total of 39 prizes overall. And it’s not hard to see why. Spring Break Portugal takes place in Albufeira, the largest, liveliest and most energetic of all resort towns in the Algarve.
To give you a glimpse of what to expect from a holiday in the Algarve, we’ve compiled a list of the top five things to do in Albufeira:
Quad Biking
Make the most of the beauty of the natural landscapes with an off-road quad biking experience and are an incredibly popular tourist activity in Albufeira, with tours by Quad Ventura rated the #1 outdoor activity in Albufeira on TripAdvisor.
Caves & Coastline Boat Tours – Visit Benagil Caves
The Algarve is well known for having some of the most stunning coastlines in Europe. There are regularly scheduled boat trips from Albufeira Marina that explore the rocky coastline, the hidden caves, coves, and new beaches. The tours include a trip to Praia de Benagil, a spectacular beach situated near Lagoa. The beach is famous for its stunning cave – Algar de Benagil. The Benagil Cave is only reachable by water and has a distinct round hole in the ceiling and a secret beach within it. Undoubtedly, it is one of the best things to see in the Algarve.
Water Parks
Albufeira is home to some incredible water parks, such as Slide & Splash and Aquashow, which have both been considered as some of the best and largest parks in the country and in Europe.
Slide & Splash water park boasts a total area of 7 hectares with newly renovated slides, pools, and rides, as well as lawns and sun loungers. The park also offers an array of aquatic entertainment, including animal shows and a massage and fish spa.
Aquashow Park is a thematic park based in the Algarve and is attached to a leisure complex with a 4-star hotel and a future indoor water park. A wave pool, various waterslides, and rides and a jacuzzi are just a few of the things Aquashow has to offer.
The Strip
One of the things Albufeira is known for is its lively nightlife. The Strip, located in the heart of Albufeira, is home to a plethora of vibrant clubs and bars with parties that continue into the early hours of the morning and is one of the many places you’ll visit during Spring Break Portugal 2020. Matt’s Bar is a favourite among tourists and a regular host to stag nights. It offers amazing DJs, a mechanical bucking bronco bull outside the bar, and reasonably-priced drinks.
The Old Town
Old Town is known for its scenic whitewashed walls and cobbled streets and a range of things to do. Old Town has many bars, superb dining options, and shops. During the summer months, there is often live music and entertainment in the streets, offering a still lively yet more relaxed alternative to The Strip.
